Students at St. John Neumann learned to cut and weave plastic grocery bags on pizza box looms. The “sit-upon” mats they made will be donated to Columbia’s homeless. Former students, now at Cardinal Newman HS, were on hand to help.

“6th-grade students at the new Midlands Arts Conservatory are cutting unwanted plastic bags to make plarn (plastic bag yarn) with Artist in Residence, Flavia Lovatelli.”
Students at the Harmony School are creating and donating balls of plastic bag yarn which will be crocheted into bedrolls for unsheltered citizens in the Midlands.
