SC Forestry Commission. Wood Magic Forest Fair is a forestry program for 5th graders and includes sessions about papermaking, gifts of the forest regeneration, sawmill and fire demonstrations and more. The program will be held in each of the three regions for one week each. They need 26 volunteers every day. Contact Beth Foley if you are interested in this event. Dates below:

Green Steps Training and Update Session. Tuesday, September 19th, 4-5:30. Session for Anderson, Oconee, Pickens mentors and teachers. SC Botanical Gardens in the Carriage House (behind Fran Hinson Visitor Center).A short tour of the coastal and prairie portion of the SC Natural Heritage Trail will be offered after the session. 32nd Annual Science Education Enrichment (S.E.E.D). Saturday, October 7th 10-3pm. A family-themed festival celebrating science technology, engineering and math. Ruth Patrick Science Education Center at USC-Aiken.

WasteLab is Coming! Launching in the Fall of 2015. Developed by Greater Greenville Sanitation. WasteLab will be a repurposed, 32-foot long trailer designed to educate students (K-8), and the public, about environmental impacts of solid waste, and the importance of landfill and natural resource conservation.
