March 2017

Project Wet Educator Workshop.  Tuesday, March 7th at 9AM at the Greenville County Clemson Cooperative Extension Office.  Project WET is an international award-winning non-profit water education program that provides hands-on, STEM-based,  multi-disciplinary curriculum for K-12 students. If interested in attending please contact Lynn Pilewski.

NOAA launches a contest for K-12 and college students.  This will be to design content for NOAA’s Science on a Sphere. They invite you to creat new maps, visualizations, and stories that help share NOAA’s mission in creative and innovative ways.  Winners will receive a $250 gift certificate to be used for educational products, a certificate from NOAA, and have their work featured at the 2017 SOS users Collaborative Network workshop as well as in our online catalog of content that is available to our worldwide user’s community. April 2017

FrogWatch USA Training.  April 1st from 3-5 at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. Anyone can volunteer and WE NEED YOU! Become a FrogWatch citizen scientist takes only a few minutes a week and allows you the chance to play a key role in the conservation of amphibians, access fieldscope to watch live data on amphibians populations, and the opportunity to meet others who share your love for the environment! NEWS YOU CAN USE!

WasteLab is Coming! Launching in the Fall of 2015. Developed by Greater Greenville Sanitation. WasteLab will be a repurposed, 32-foot long trailer designed to educate students (K-8), and the public, about environmental impacts of solid waste, and the importance of landfill and natural resource conservation.
